Order of the Knights of Rizal,

Winnipeg Chapter

The Order of Knights of Rizal (KoR) is an organization with international chapters whose main goal is to study and observe the writings and ideals of the Philippines national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Rizal's writings on human rights and his martyred death are generally recognized as the catalyst that precipitated Philippines revolution and eventual Independence from four centuries of Spanish colonial rule. In Winnipeg, the KoR has established programs aimed at encouraging the value of education for the youth of the community as well as seminars for seniors with a focus on health and healthy living.

In recent years, the KoR Winnipeg Chapter has been involved in memorial projects that commemorates Rizal (see below).  A shared goal of the Filipino Canadian community of Winnipeg, which is the establishment of the Dr. Jose Rizal Park will be brought to it's completion in June 21, 2014.
